Luckily for you...

Luckily for you, dear and gentle reader, I got most of my rants out of the way already this morning. Luckily for you, you are not the first place I went to on the internet so I will not post, rant, beg and cry about the foul odors of the US Congress and Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney. I am done with that today.
The last time I had my blood pressure taken (sometime in the summer) it was higher than it has ever been. It's not bad, it's average. Usually I have outstanding blood pressure...so when I hear things like I heard on the radio this morning (something about cut funding for social programs and approved tax cuts for the wealthy) I can feel my blood boil. So, I try to tune it out or get it out of my system as quickly as possible. And, luckily for you, I already got it out of my system.

So...

What to type?

My garden is doing well. I have broccoli sprouts, kale, greens, squash, lettuce, arrugula, chaya and spinach. Also a tomato. Actually, i have lots of tomatoes sprouting up from our summer's fallen crop, but it is getting colder and I apologize to them everytime I pinch them from the soil and toss them aside. I feel bad. But I saved one and re-potted it in hopes of moving it indoors when it gets too cold and seeing if it will give me some tomatoes in exchange for the attention. Tomatoes in winter! Home grown! Nice.

See, I feel better already.

Have a great day everyone,
Michelle

Updated 11/18/05 XMas list

Chris and Michelle's Christmas Wish List
Do-able:
one pear tree (a good kind for Austin temperatures, I hear the asian pear trees do well)
one mexican plum tree

help re-wiring our house (our bathroom light has not worked for four months)

fenders for bike tires so when it is raining my butt doesn't get wet! (both Chris and Michelle)

a pair of really good fabric cutting scissors for michelle, the kind that last forever and only need to be sharpened to make them good as new!

good dress socks for Chris: black, brown and grey

Mason jars!! (seriously, we love storing our bulk items in the glass jars as well as leftover soups)

a really good 16 inch straight claw hammer for chris (he bent our other hammers)

Only if Donald Trump decided to give us christmas gifts, here is what we would ask for:

low-e, double pane windows (casement preferable)

bamboo wood floor for our living room and hallway

a kickass sewing machine for Michelle complete with a manual (i have to guess on the one I am using now)

a new bumper cover for the car as well as a new windshield so we can sell it and then have Donald buy us a hybrid or Toyota Scion

more milk paint!!

All right, I had better stop dreaming and get back to work! Egads!

Grrrr

So, I usually do all my online stuff here at work because I ride my bike and bus in and therefore, usually get here waaay before my shift starts, so I use that time to write emails, blog and do myspace stuff. And lately, I have been doing more of my online communication via myspace because i can blog, email and post bulletins all in one place.

Well, not any longer. Whole Foods Market has decided to block the myspace site. I understand there are a lot of cuss words and there is little censorship, but come on! This is not fair. Plus, there was no warning. Just bam! You can't get to the messages that people have been sending you now. You can't see the comments one friend whom you haven't seen in two years has left for you. Bam! In one fell swoop, I have been rendered silent. Except for here, thanks Blogger, but no offense, I miss my Myspace.

The 20ft trench

My daises are ruined. Granted, the flower bed was nowhere near finished, but at least my daises consistently bloomed. Now, they are ripping up the street and digging a freakin' huge trench down our culdesac and my daises are buried in a tractor caused rockslide. Sigh.

Anyways, this morning I harvested some of the greens from my garden: chard and red mustard greens. I scrambled some eggs, sauteed the greens and voila! The best breakfast complete with iron, protein and green stuff. Joy and I ran 2.75 miles today. The farthest we have run to date. We had to walk some but at least we made it to 2 miles without stopping! Yay!

I can't think of anymore to say. But I will try to post more later. Ciao.
