Sigh

So, sometime last week, my alarm went off as I had to go to work early that morning. I got up with ease which is not normal. And I walked into the living room and noticed the phone sitting on the couch. "Oh, "I thought "I wonder if anyone called us." Although we went to bed late the night before and I was up early, I noticed that we had missed a call. So I checked the voicemail and there was a message informing Chris that he had indeed got the teaching job we had been waiting for. Yay! Double yay!

I was going to write a long, intellectual blog...but someone in the break room is watching Sex and the City and my IQ dropped a couple of points. Okay, like ten or twenty points and now, I can't write anymore. Must watch beautiful stick women prance around the screen in clothes that normal people just can't afford. Must watch...Argh!

Love,
Michelle

Still waiting...

Happy Holidays everyone.

Well, I don't know if the school is already closed for the holidays or not, but we still haven't heard anything besides an email from the principal saying she was still interested in hiring Chris and that she has been sick and way behind in paperwork.

But, I don't like this waiting. I can't plan for the next month's bills if I don't know we are going to have a different income or not. Complain, complain, complain...I know.

I am looking forward to Wednesday around 4pm. I get off of work about 330 and then I have four days off! Whoo hoo! I am very excited and not even anxious about all the driving we have to do. I am also looking forward to seeing Chris' family and meeting the new baby (Chris' sister Jennifer will be induced tomorrow if something doesn't happen between now and then).

Merry Christmas all! Peace out yo'
Michelle

Argh, the waiting...

Chris interviewed for a math teacher position at a non-profit charter school a week and a couple of days ago. He was told that basically the job was his, but they wanted to leave the position open for one more week and that they would notify him on Friday (today).
He just called (because it is 230 and we were anxious) and found out that the principal is out of town until Monday...which means more waiting. Which translates into stress time for Michelle, which in turn means stress for Chris. Poor Chris.

But other than that, all is well. I have been working a lot and am ready to have three days off in a row for Christmas. Ah, that will be so nice.

So, I have to go clock in for work now. Please keep us in your prayers and good thoughts while we bite our nails this weekend waiting to see if Chris has this job or not. Thanks.

The Christmas List

As per suggestion, I have started our Christmas list:

Michelle's list:
Any books about gardening (preferably about Texas native gardening) and composting, soapmaking (except for Natural Soapmaking and its companion, which I now have), knitting, crocheting or sewing books. Or any amount in a gift card to Half Price Books, my very good friend Erin gave me one a long time ago for 25 dollars and I swear, I got at least five good books out of that card...awesome possum! (yes, i just typed awesome possum...yes, I know that I am incredibly silly)

Cool yarn! There is this store in town called Hill Country Weavers that has an awesome selection. A little pricey, so you don't have to buy from there, I merely named that store for ideas.

A sleeping eye mask(maybe with some lavender in it, hmmm)

Saddlebags for my bike so I can ride to school without my bag digging into my back. (REI has some incredible ones, but they are rather expensive. I am sure any biking store would have the same brand for cheaper.)

New running shoes for Me! (I usually buy my shoes from Academy, New Balance or Saucony depending on the model for this year)

Chris' list: (although these items I know he would like, Chris has not specifically asked for anything)

A robe, maybe a flannel robe or something similar

Beard trimmer

Jeff Buckley CD titled "Grace"

Tom Waits CD

Fiddler on the Roof DVD

Man of la Mancha DVD or VHS

For both of us:
Helmets! To be safe when we are riding!

A good digital camera (we registered for this little digital camera, and it is not very good...)

Whole Foods gift certificate! Yay for having food in the house!

Ok, I will edit this again when I have more ideas on what Chris wants. And remember, we really don't need anything for Christmas, but if you insist...
